About The Band:

The Beginning

Deathblow (by Hate) was founded by current guitar player Rutger and current bass player Mark in 2005. They both were active in music together in a ‘2 mans/one show’ band called Munk, and decided that it was time to form a ‘real’ band. In search of new members they soon found what they needed in their group of close friends. Matthijs, a good friend of Rutger, agreed on doing the vocal duties (although he had an undying passion to become a 2nd guitar player) And Kajo, a good friend of Mark, was the new drummer of the band. Honorable mention in this line up is Peter, a friend of the band who first was meant to be the 2nd guitar player, but actually never made it. He was the reason that Matthijs became the vocalist and not the 2nd guitar player. But Peter is more than happy with his current role in the band, drinking beer and head banging at shows and practice.

First Steps

The band started practicing in the solution, a youth center in their home town Hillegom. The first songs (consumed ‘till death, awake, fueled by hatred and I Refuse) were soon written and the band played some local shows. Gaining enough self esteem through this, the band decided to record a demo in Leiden. The demo was named ‘survival of the sickest’ and actually never was released, it did made the MySpace page of the band.

Change Of Plans

At the beginning of 2006 the band still practiced and still played some shows, but the main issue at the practices were the beer and the fun. The band felt like they needed to put their foot down and become a little more professional about the future of the band. They left the practice room in Solution and start to practice in a more high end studio named Add Music. It’s there where the band wrote their newest songs (another corpse on the pile, veteran and j’ayl rabarb’a) that were more in the direction they wanted. More powerful, less bullshit.

Deathblow by Hate is een deathmetal band en bestaat inmiddels ruim 1 jaar (opgericht eind februari 2005). Deathblow by Hate is gevormd door de huidige gitarist (Rutger Jansen) en de huidige bassist (Mark Aarts). Verder bestaat de band uit een zanger (Matthijs Blokker) en een drummer (Kajo Pass). De band komt uit Hillegom en oefent geregeld in het jongerencentrum Sollution. De muziek van Deathblow by Hate kan het beste worden omschreven als Deathmetal. De band het echter een unieke sound. De eerste demo is opgenomen in oktober 2005 en daar zijn de invloeden te horen van o.a. bands zoals: Chimaira, Devildriver, Pantera, Hatebreed en Lamb of God.
